We’ll unpack how systems work—airframes, motors, controllers, sensors, and batteries—then connect that to flight theory and practical stick time. You’ll plan and execute missions with checklists while interpreting weather, airspace, and regulations, and you’ll practice manual and automated modes, emergency procedures, and basic maintenance. We’ll also cover camera settings and data workflows for photos, video, and mapping.

The skills translate directly to real jobs: cinematic content, construction progress, roof and utility inspections, agriculture scouting, and public safety support. You’ll build a small portfolio, adopt risk-management habits, and learn how to operate compliantly, including prep for relevant certification exams where available. By the end, you’ll know what to buy, how to fly, and how to turn aerial data into results.

I’m Jeremy Strang, and I teach Basics of Drone Operations. I’ve spent years in the drone field—from hobby builds and cinematography to commercial mapping and inspections—learning what it takes to fly safely, legally, and with purpose. My approach blends real-world checklists, clear explanations of airspace and regulations, and practical workflows you can use on day one.
